Biography

Born in Champaign, IL, Brandon originally enlisted in the U.S. Army as a medic in 2006. As an enlisted soldier, he was assigned to Fort Bragg, NC, and completed a deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. In 2010, Brandon left the Army to attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. After graduating with a degree in Political Science in 2012, rejoined the Army as a commissioned Field Artillery Officer. He has since been stationed at Fort Campbell, KY, and Fort Stewart, GA, completing two more combat deployments to the Middle East and two operational deployments to Southeast Asia. Most recently, he served as a battery commander in 1st Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division.

Brandon selected Notre Dame based on the University’s high academic standards, outstanding alumni network and veteran engagement, and positive interactions with faculty and staff during the admissions process. Brandon is majoring in Business Analytics and Business leadership at Mendoza and will return to active duty with the Army upon graduation.
