Biography

Matt was born and raised on the south shore of Long Island in the small town of Sayville, NY. He studied Marine Engineering Systems at the United States Merchant Marine Academy and graduated in 2013. Upon graduating from USMMA, Matt worked for a Louisiana-based oil services company, Edison Chouest Offshore, for several years. He upgraded his sailing license twice, earning a 1st Assistant Engineer Unlimited before moving to Sacramento, California, to work for Procter and Gamble as a Manufacturing Process Engineer. After a few years at P&G, Matt's curiosity about how businesses make critical strategic decisions led him to Mendoza's MBA program. Distinctive features of Notre Dame that have attracted Matt are the University’s Catholic character, the institution’s rich history, and the fact that the University is family-friendly. Matt is currently a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Reserve in the Strategic Sealift Officer program.

Post-MBA, Matt intends to work for either an energy company or a consulting firm in a technical practice area.
